وجه الصحفيون اليمنيون المفرج عنهم من سجون الحوثيين رسالة عاجلة للأمين العام للأمم المتحدة ومبعوثه الخاص الى اليمن طالبو فيها بسرعة الضغط على مليشيا الحوثيين لإطلاق بقية زملائهم المختطفين لدى الجماعة.

نحن الصحفيون المفرج عنهم من سجون ميليشيا الحوثي ضمن صفقة تبادل أًبرمت في 15 أكتوبر/ تشرين الثاني 2020 رعتها الأمم المتحدة، بعد أن قضينا قرابة خمس سنوات ونصف في سجون الحوثي، وشاهدنا فيها أهوالاً جسيمة، ومورست بحقنا كل صنوف التعذيب النفسي والجسدي.
نكتب إليكم هذه الرسالة ونحن نتردد كل يوم على المستشفيات والعيادات الطبية في جمهورية مصر العربية للعلاج مما لحق بنا في فترة الاختطاف، وفي الوقت الذي تواصل الميليشيا الحوثية اختطاف ومحاكمة 4 من زملائنا الصحفيين وهم "عبدالخالق عمران، أكرم الوليدي، حارث حميد، توفيق المنصوري"
حيث سبق وأصدرت بحقهم حكماً بالإعدام، مستغلة سيطرتها على القضاء واستخدامه كورقة سياسية وإصدار الأحكام الجائرة على المناوئين لها.
إن أوامر الإعدام التي أصدرتها مليشيات الحوثي بتاريخ 11 أبريل/ نيسان 2020، في حق زملائنا الصحفيين المختطفين بعد محاكمة هزلية، عشنا فصولها سابقا، واستئناف محاكمتهم الآن يعد حربا معلنة على الصحفيين وتقويضا للحريات الصحفية، وما من شأنه أن يضاعف معاناتهم ومعاناة أسرهم ويضع حياتهم على المحك، أضف إلى ذلك
حالتهم الصحية المتدهورة بسبب التعذيب الذي تعرضنا له جميعا وما زالوا يتعرضون له في ظل إهمال متعمد للرعاية الصحية من قبل المليشيات الحوثية.
خمس سنوات ونصف قضيناها في سجون مليشيات الحوثي وما صاحبها من إخفاء وحرمان وعزلة وتعذيب جسدي ونفسي وتنكيل كانت كفيلة بأن تسرق منا أجمل سنوات عمرنا ومن المحزن أن يظل بقية زملائنا رهن هذه المعاناة التي تفرض علينا وعلى أحرار العالم النضال من أجلهم حتى يتم إطلاق سراحهم.
إن محاولات جماعة الحوثي استئناف محاكمة زملائنا الصحفيين المختطفين لتقطع الطريق أمام كل الدعوات المنادية للسلام، وتعتبر تحديا حقيقيا لدعوة المبعوث الأممي مارتن جريفيت في إحاطته الأخيرة أمام مجلس الأمن داعياً سرعة الإفراج عن الزملاء الصحفيين فورا.

إننا لا نريد أن نطلب منكم أن تضعوا أنفسكم مكان زملائنا الأربعة الصحفيين، بل نلوذ بكم وبعدالتكم وإيمانكم بالحريات، والتزامكم بالدفاع عن المدافعين عن حقوق الإنسان، ونناشدكم القيام بالدور الحثيث  والضاغط الذي ينقذ زملاءنا ويضع حداً لمعاناتهم ، وينتصر لنا بملاحقة كل من حرمنا وارتكب أفضع الجرائم بحقنا وحق زملائنا وبحق الصحافة والإنسانية جمعاء.
يجب أن تدركوا أننا نرقب تحرككم العاجل لأنقاذ زملائنا كل يوم وكل ساعة، ونحن ممتنون كثيراً لجهودكم، فلا تخيبوا آمالنا بكم.

We are the Yemeni journalists, who have been released from Houthi militia's prisons within UN-sponsored sweeping deal on October 15, 2020, after nearly five and a half years in Houthi's prisons, witnessing serious horrors and all kinds of psychological and physical torture practices.

We write this letter to you as we keep visiting hospitals and medical clinics in the Arab Republic of Egypt for the treatment of what happened to us during the period of abduction, as the Houthi militia continue kidnapping and prosecuting four of our fellow journalists, "Abdulkhalaq Emran, Akram Al-Walidi, Harith Hamid, Tawfiq Al-Mansouri". 

Houthi militia had already sentenced them to death, using its control over the judiciary as a political card to passing unfair sentences against its opponents.

The death sentences handed down by the Houthi militias on 11 April 2020 against our fellow abducted journalists after a manic trial, which we had previously lived in also, the resumption of their trial now is a declared war against journalists and a violation of press freedoms. All these points increase their suffering, including their families and putting their lives at stake.

Additionally, the continued deteriorating of their health as a result of the torture, which they have been subjected till moment and under the deliberate neglect of health care by Houthi militias.

We spent inside Houthi militia's prisons five years and half, during which we suffered concealment, deprivation, isolation, physical and psychological torture and abuse that were enough to steal the most beautiful years of our lives. 

And it is so sad that the rest of our fellow journalists are still experiencing such suffering, which prompt us as well as all free people to advocate for their release.

The Houthi attempts to resume trial of our kidnapped fellow journalists stand in the road blocking all calls for achieving peace. It is also a challenge to the call of UN Envoy Martin Griffith in his recent briefing to the Security Council, in which he calls for immediate release of fellow journalists.

We do not want to ask you to put yourselves in the position of our four fellow journalists, but rather seeking you, your justice, your firm belief in freedoms, and your commitment to defend human rights defenders.

We appeal to you to play an active and pressing role that can save the life of our colleagues and put an end to their suffering, and bring justice to us by prosecuting all those who have deprived and committed the most heinous crimes against us, against our colleagues and against the right of press and humanity entirely.

We are awaiting your immediate action to save fellow journalists every day and every hour. We are also grateful to your efforts.
